Wild Orchid Children

O Kirk Huffman não gosta de veados.

Depois dos Gatsby's American Dream entrarem em hiatus e do sucesso dos Kay Kay And His Weathered Underground, Huffman apresenta-se agora envolvido num outro side project, juntamente com Kyle O'Quin (also from GAD and KKAHWU) e ainda Thomas Hunter (Forgive Durden) chamado "Wild Orchid Children".

Em 2009 apresentaram-se com o EP denominado "The Elephant" e neste momento preparam o lançamento do seu LP de estreia (ainda sem nome divulgado). Agora vem a parte complicada em que vos tento transmitir ao que é que estes rapazes soam. Imaginem o hardcore rap dos Beastie Boys misturado com o rock desmedido na distorção dos Rage Against The Machine. Aliás, imaginem menos rap, mais rock e juntem-lhe uma pitada de dub e voilá, aí têm os Wild Orchid Children; com a sujidade do garage rock e ainda o funk tribal da terra e das criaturas que nela habitam.

"It all began on a pilgrimage to the mountains of black diamond along lake sawyer. with the earth’s fungus in our blood we began the simple art of making vibrations. these vibrations transformed to notes, making music which rang the innards of our bodies and souls at such perfect pitches that our synapses began to receive messages and revelations. the secrets to the eternal universe, the tools for an archaic revival. we did not expect this calling, we only accept this calling. to be the porters of musical salvation, to rid this planet of fear and align the bio-sphere with the neo-sphere. for ahead of us, dear brothers and sisters, is the secret…"
